Voodoo’s Southern Exposure College Recruiting Camp Announced
Louisiana Voodoo’s 12th annual Southern Exposure College Recruiting Camp will be held on November 16th and 17th this year. The camp brings some of the most talented softball players from around the Gulf Coast region to Kenner, LA. The camp is a chance for players, aged 13 and up, to show off their softball skills in front of college coaches from all over the region. The camp is both instructional and provides exposure for the players.
This year Louisiana Voodoo has a stellar line-up of coaches from various D1, D2, D3, and JUCO colleges. Voodoo anticipates having coaches from 10-15 different colleges attend the camp including University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Southeastern Louisiana University, University of Southern Mississippi, Nicholls State University, Northwestern State University, University of Louisiana-Monroe, Spring Hill College, William Carey University, Louisiana Christian University, Northwest Florida State College and Baton Rouge Community College. We are in discussions with other schools that could be added soon as well.
On Saturday, November 16th, the players will embark on a high-intensity and high-rep skills camp from 9 am – 4 pm. They will do multiple drills at their desired position and have the opportunity to show the coaches what they are capable of while receiving great feedback from the same coaches. All the players will also have an opportunity to hit a round of batting practice in front of the coaches. Players are welcome to introduce themselves and talk to the coaches throughout the weekend.
On Sunday, November 17th, the players will be divided into teams and play a live-action scrimmage and will be coached by the coaches in attendance. It is a great opportunity for the players to play for college coaches and play against some of the best players in the region.
The cost of the camp is $200 before 10/31 and $225 after 10/31. Space is limited as we are only allowed to have 100 campers. Space is also limited to players that are currently playing 14U, 16U, and 18U. For more information call Kurt Traub at 985-789-5911
